Slider Recipes for All 16 Types
Below you will find recommended slider combinations for every personality type in the Tomodachi Life personality chart. Each recipe gives you a set of four values (Movement, Speech, Energy, Attitude) that will produce the desired personality. The Overall slider can be set to anything — it does not affect the result.

How to Read a Slider Recipe
A recipe is just four numbers in this order: Movement, Speech, Energy, Attitude. Each slider runs from 1 to 8, where 1 is the left end and 8 is the right end of the bar you see at creation. So a recipe written as 2, 5, 7, 3 means Movement 2, Speech 5, Energy 7, Attitude 3. The Overall slider at the top is cosmetic only, so set it however you like. The game doesn't read it. To figure out the type, add Movement plus Speech, then add Energy plus Attitude. Those two sums get compared against the group cutoffs. Take the example 2, 5, 7, 3. Movement plus Speech is 7, which lands in Reserved. Energy plus Attitude is 10, which lands in Outgoing. Cross them on the chart and you get the exact type. The recipe page above lists all 16 combos so you don't have to do the math yourself.
Tips for Hitting the Exact Type You Want
A few things catch players off guard. First, the sliders are 1 to 8, not 0 to 7, so a slider all the way left is still 1. The group math uses value minus one, which is why the column cutoffs go 0 to 3, 4 to 7, and so on. Second, Movement is the only slider with a visible effect during normal play. A Mii with high Movement walks and gesticulates faster, so if you set Movement to 8 your Mii will zip around the apartment and flail their arms on every reaction. If that bothers you, pick a type whose Movement target is mid-range. Third, watch the edges. A sum that lands exactly on a cutoff, like Movement plus Speech equal to 8, is the lowest value of the Outgoing column, not the top of Reserved. One notch on either slider flips the type. Save before finalizing if you're unsure.
Can You Change a Mii's Personality Later?
You can't. Once you finish creating a Mii, its personality is locked for the life of that save file. There's no edit option, no personality-change item, and no surgery minigame. The only way to change a Mii's type is to delete the Mii entirely and recreate it from scratch, which wipes its friendships, relationships, level, and any baby it has with a spouse. If a Mii is married and you delete them, the spouse becomes a widow. Some players keep a spare copy of the Mii's face saved in the Mii Maker so recreation is faster, but the relationship damage is permanent. This is the one thing I wish the game handled differently. If you're experimenting, do it early, before your Miis have built up months of history. Decide on a type before you commit to a long save.
